What's New in AutoMod

New features, improvements and fixes, as they ship. Follow along on Discord or subscribe to the RSS feed.

  1. Improved

A tidier Levels page and more control over replies

Fewer tabs in the Levels plugin, a delete option for replies to sticky messages, and the delay for auto-deleted auto responder replies is back.

    Levels

The Levels page is easier to find your way around. Related settings now share a tab:

    • Messages: the level-up message and custom messages
    • Roles: level rewards and bonus roles
    • Data: importing levels and resetting them

    Sticky messages

New option Delete replies. Replies to the sticky message are removed and don't cause a repost, so the sticky message stays where it belongs.

    Auto Responders

When a reply is set to delete itself, you can choose the delay again, from 1 to 120 seconds.

  2. New

    Use AutoMod commands anywhere

Add AutoMod to your own account and use /avatar, /jumbo and /link in any server, DM or group chat.

AutoMod can now be added to your own Discord account, not just to servers.

Once added, these commands work everywhere, even in servers without AutoMod, in DMs and in group chats:

    • /avatar shows a bigger version of anyone's avatar
    • /jumbo shows a bigger version of one or more emojis
    • /link links your Twitch or Kick account for supporter roles

To add it, open AutoMod's profile in Discord, click Add App and choose Add to My Apps.

  3. New

Switch from MEE6 without losing levels

Import your MEE6 leaderboard into the Levels plugin. Every member keeps their level, and MEE6's role rewards can come along.

Moving from MEE6 no longer means starting from zero. The Levels plugin can now import your server's MEE6 leaderboard.

    • Every member keeps their level. Their progress within it is converted to AutoMod's XP curve, so level roles stay exactly where they were.
    • Role rewards come along. MEE6's role rewards can be added as level rewards in the same step.
    • You decide what to import. Set a minimum level, and choose whether members who are already further along in AutoMod keep their progress.

Open Levels → Data → Import from MEE6 to start. Your MEE6 leaderboard has to be public, and each server can import once every 7 days.

  4. New

Twitch and Kick in Automations, plus supporter roles

React to follows, subs, raids and more from your Twitch or Kick channel, and give your subscribers a role on Discord automatically.

Connect your Twitch or Kick channel on the Integrations page and two new things open up.

    Stream events in Automations

The new Stream Event trigger runs an automation when something happens on your channel:

    • Stream started or ended
    • New follower
    • New subscription, resubscription or gifted subscriptions
    • Cheers (bits) and KICKs
    • Raids
    • Channel point rewards

Thank new subs in a channel, announce raids, or give a role when someone redeems a reward. The viewer's name and the event details are available as variables.

    Supporter roles

Give a role to everyone who subscribes to your channel. AutoMod keeps it in sync and removes it when the subscription ends.

    • One subscriber role is free
    • With Premium: a role per Twitch tier, a follower role and a grace period before roles are removed

    Linked accounts

Members link their Twitch or Kick account once on their AutoMod profile or with /link. That's how AutoMod knows who they are on Discord.

Already connected before? Reconnect your channel once on the Integrations page to unlock the new events.

  5. Improved

Birthdays: one birthday for all your servers

Set your birthday once and every server with Birthdays enabled can celebrate it. You can still keep a different birthday for single servers, and admins can now manage birthdays from the dashboard.

Birthdays got a big update. Your birthday no longer has to be entered again on every server.

    For members

    • One birthday for all servers: Use /birthday set with the new scope option set to All servers, and every server with Birthdays enabled will wish you on your day.
    • Only for this server: Leave the scope on This server to save a birthday that only applies here. It always takes priority over your global birthday on that server.
    • Reset where you want: /birthday reset now only affects the current server by default. Your global birthday keeps working everywhere else. Choose All servers to remove it completely.
    • New Birthday tab on your profile: Set or remove your global birthday, see the servers where it's hidden and show it again, and remove birthdays you saved for single servers.

    For admins

    • New Members tab: The Birthdays page in the dashboard now lists all birthdays saved for your server. You can add a birthday for a member or remove one directly from there.
    • Removing a birthday also hides that member's global birthday on your server, so they aren't wished there anymore. Their birthday on other servers stays untouched.
    • Require Birth Year still applies: a global birthday without a year is only used on your server if the member adds one.

    Also improved

    • If a member changes their birthday, they are now always wished on the new date.
    • Automations with the Birthday schedule now also include global birthdays, and February 29 birthdays are celebrated on February 28 in non-leap years.

All existing birthdays have been kept. They now count as birthdays for the server they were set on.

  6. New

    Invite Tracker

See who invited whom, which links bring members and who actually stays. Includes fake detection, leaderboards, tracking links and join and leave announcements.

    What's new

    • Invite tracking: every join is linked to its invite and inviter, including vanity URL and server discovery.
    • Fake detection: new accounts and quick leaves are not counted. Optionally count members only after verification or rules screening.
    • Leaderboard and join history: in the dashboard and with /invites.
    • Tracking links: create labelled invite links and see which source brings the most members.
    • Analytics: joins, leaves and retention over time.
    • Announcements: custom join and leave messages with inviter variables.
    • Competitions: time-limited invite rankings with an automatic result post.
    • Variables: inviter and invite code in welcome messages and automations.

    Server Protection (Beta)

Anti-nuke, anti-raid and server backups in one free plugin. AutoMod watches the audit log, stops mass actions within seconds and can restore deleted channels and roles.

    What's new

    • Anti-nuke: limits for bans, kicks, channel, role and webhook deletions. Choose a preset (relaxed, standard, strict) or set your own limits.
    • Instant response: attackers are quarantined, kicked or banned, and their changes are reverted automatically.
    • Bot and webhook protection: block unverified bots and remove spamming webhooks.
    • Anti-raid: detects join bursts and starts raid mode. Pauses invites and DMs, raises verification, locks channels and can remove raiders retroactively.
    • Backups: automatic snapshots of channels and roles. Deleted items can be restored in one click.
    • Network signals: accounts that took part in raids or nukes on other servers are flagged when they join.
    • Commands: /raid, /panic and /quarantine for quick action from Discord.
    • Live feed: incidents and raid actions show up in the dashboard in real time.
    • Monitor mode: test your setup without taking action first.

    Premium and Pro

    • Custom limits per rule
    • Smart raid detection: adaptive join limits, name clusters and message waves
    • Longer backup history (7 days Premium, 30 days and manual snapshots Pro)

Server Protection is in beta. Feedback is welcome on our support server.

  8. Improved

Messages, rebuilt: customize every message AutoMod sends

Every reply, error, DM and log message of AutoMod can now be fully restyled per server. Share your style as a kit, browse community kits, or switch the whole bot to German, Spanish or Portuguese in one click.

    What's new

    • Every message is customizable: command replies, errors, DMs and log entries are each one message you can fully restyle for your server.
    • Three formats: simple text, classic embeds or Components V2, with link buttons, custom colors or your server's brand color.
    • Texts tab: edit every text inside a message, such as button labels, list rows and status names.
    • Variables by category: insert {user_mention}, {server_name} and more from the toolbar and check everything in the live preview.
    • Kits: export your messages as a kit, share it with a link and import it on any server, choosing per conflict which version to keep.
    • Community kits: publish your kit in the new Community tab, browse kits by language and tag, vote, and get notified when an imported kit is updated.
    • Official language kits: switch every message to German, Spanish or Brazilian Portuguese in one click. They keep the default design and always match the current bot.
    • Translated slash commands: Discord now shows command and option descriptions in each member's language. Command names stay in English.

Customizations from the previous Messages plugin were not carried over.

Vote Rewards: earn Premium for your server

Members can now give their top.gg votes to your server. Collect enough votes in one 30-day round and redeem a month of Premium for free.

    What's new

    • Vote for a server: every top.gg vote can now count for one server the voter is a member of.
    • Free Premium: collect enough votes from enough different members within 30 days and a server manager can redeem 30 days of Premium on the new Vote Rewards page.
    • Goals by server size: small servers start at 40 votes from 3 voters; bigger servers need more. The goal is fixed when a round starts.
    • Four ways to give a vote: the server's own vote link, a default server set on the vote page, picking a server after voting, or the new Give my last vote here button in /vote.
    • Vote role and log: optionally give voters a role for a few hours and post every vote to a log channel.
    • /vote now shows your server's progress toward its goal.

Only members whose Discord account is at least 14 days old count toward a goal.
